BNP has said it does not want a war between India and Pakistan over their ongoing tension on the Kashmir issue.
“The party wants peace and stability in the region,” said BNP International Affairs Secretary Nawshad Zamir on Monday (Mar 4).
Asked on how the party is evaluating the issue of a possible war between the two nuclear-armed South Asian countries, Nawshad told Bangla Tribune, "BNP believes in regional peace and stability.”
Barrister Nawshad stressed on the importance of finding ways to solve the problem through discussions between the two countries saying "late President Ziaur Rahman believed that whatever can be achieved across the table through dialogue can never be accomplished in a war."
