Road, Transport and Bridges Minister Obaidul Quader. FILE PHOTORoad, Transport and Bridges Minister Obaidul Quader criticized a Transparency International Bangladesh (TIB) report about the credibility of the polls, and called it a “mysterious affair.”
TIB is actually against the transparency of the polls, he said while addressing an audience at the AL headquarters at Bangabandhu Avenue on Wednesday (Jan 16).
Saying that TIB was concocting stories about the credibility of the polls, Quader said, adding, “Transparent ballot boxes were used. Did any of your representatives or their agents raise questions regarding the polls?”
Previously on Tuesday (Jan 15), TIB published a report titled ‘Review of 11th Jatiyo Sangsad Election Process’ that said that the Dec 30 election was partially participatory.
The organization also recommended a judicial inquiry into the allegations of irregularities and that the polls were rigged in 41 out of the 50 constituencies that they probed.
