Awami League President and Prime Minister Sheikh Hasina is scheduled to attend three election rallies, including one in Dhaka, next week.
“The prime minister will address a rally Dhaka’s Gulshan on Dec 21 and two more in Sylhet and Rangpur on Dec 22 and 23,” Awami League Deputy Office Secretary Biplob Barua told Bangla Tribune on Sunday (Dec 16).
Another rally in Dhaka may be held later, he said. “The rallies are part of the campaign for the national election.”
On Wednesday (Dec 13), ruling Awami League’s polls campaign officially kicked off in Gopalganj with Hasina’s rally at Kotalipara in her constituency.
As she headed back to Dhaka the next day, she addressed seven more rallies on her way.
