Jatiya Oikya Front Convener Dr Kamal Hossain lashed out at journalists when he was asked about his stance on Jamaat-e-Islami.
The exchange has been reported on Friday (Dec 14) as Dr Kamal went to pay respects to martyred intellectuals at the Martyred Intellectuals Memorial in Mirpur flanked by Oikya Front leaders.
When Journalists asked the Gano Forum chief about his stance on Jamaat-e-Islami, he lashed out saying, “How much were you paid to ask these questions? I’ll remember your face. How much did they pay? How dare you disrespect the martyrs at the very memorial? Have some respect for them. Shut up!”
Earlier he said, “We came to pay our respects on the occasion of Martyred Intellectuals day. Millions of martyrs sacrificed their lives for independence, which we are meant to protect, we are meant to make it meaningful.
“It’s not for them who are busy filling their own pockets. We are working towards building an oppression-free beautiful society for which people’s unity is the precondition,” added Kamal.
“We will free the nation from those who are working against our dream of independence and robbing the country out of greed,” Kamal said.
