The HM Ershad led Jatiya Party (JP) will unveil its polls manifesto on Friday (Dec 14), confirmed the party’s Presidium member Sunil Shuvo Roy.

The party’s former Secretary General, ABM Ruhul Amin Howlader who is currently carrying out the party chief’s responsibilities in his absence, will announce the manifesto at Ershad’s Banani office.

A 20 member polls monitoring committee has also been formed, Shunil told Bangla Tribune.

JP Presidium members SM Faisal Chisti, Md Shafiqul Islam Sentu are part of the committee. The other members are Alamgir Shikder Loton, Nurul Islam Nuru, Md Arifur Rahman Khan, Amanat Hossain Amanat, Shafiullah Shafi, Mostafizur Rahman Nayeem, Saiful Islam Pintu, Md Helal Uddin, Sultan Mahmud, MA Razzak Khan, Golam Mostafa, Kazi Abul Khayer, Shumon Ashraf, Syed Md Iftekhar Ahsan Hassan, Md Mizanur Rahman Miru and Khandaker Delowar Jalali.

The party’s Presidium member Shahidur Rahman Tepa will be the secretary of the cell, while Delowar Hossain Khan will has been appointed the convener.

JP is contesting the polls in 29 constituencies in coalition with the Awami League led Grand Alliance. The party has also floated 132 of its own in the polls slated for Dec 30.

Meanwhile, the party chief and former military dictator HM Ershad is currently undergoing treatment in Singapore after falling ill in the last week of November.
