Jatiya Party Chairman HM Ershad is leaving for Singapore tonight, accompanied by the party’s Presidium member Ziauddin Bablu.
His Personal Secretary and Presidium member Khaled Akhter confirmed that his flight will take off on Monday (Dec 10) at 10:45 pm.
Although there have been much talk that the former military dictator will be going to Singapore, the reasons for his visit is unclear.
Speculations were rife about his sudden illness for quite some time now, with many thinking that he has isolated himself to escape backlash from unhappy party workers.
Ershad, who serves as the special envoy to the PM, was admitted to the Combined Military Hospital (CMH) on Nov 29 for ‘serious pain in his knees and some other complications’ according to his press secretary.
