Ruling Awami League (AL) has endorsed 15 candidates from their allies to run for the upcoming general polls with their electoral symbol ‘boat’. Twelve of them have been picked from the 14-party Alliance while the other three candidates are from the Grand Alliance. However, party insiders are saying one or two more ally candidates may be given green signal to represent ‘boat’ in the ensuing ballot-battle.
Awami League General Secretary Obaidul Quader on Friday (Dec 7) handed over nomination approval letters to ally candidates at the party chief’s Dhanmondi office.
