Internet sensation Hero Alom is seeking the ticket from HM-Ershad-led Jatiya Party in the upcoming 11th Parliamentary Election.
On Monday, Hero, whose real name is Ashraful Alam Sayeed, brought a nomination form for the Bogura-4 constituency from the Jatiya Party’s Banani offices.
Party Co-Chairman GM Quader and Presidium member Masud Parvez Sohel Rana, an actor, handed over the form to Hero, who is known for his self-made videos that went viral on the social media.
“I will sincerely serve the nation if elected. My initial plan was to contest the race for Bogura-6, but the people in Bogura-4 constituency love me a lot. I admire Hossain Mohammad Ershad and his Jatiya Party,” he told the media after collecting the form.
Hero, who shot to fame after a bunch of his unintentionally hilarious music videos went viral on the social media, created a hype among Jatiya Party activists when he arrived at the party’s Banani offices.
Several leaders, including some at the policymaking level, were seen taking selfies with him. At one point, supporters gathered outside the office raised slogans for him.
