The ruling Awami League has extended the deadline to submit the party’s nomination papers for another four hours, ending at 10pm Monday (Nov 12).
“The deadline was extended as long queue over nomination form submission has appeared at the party’s Dhanmondi offices,” AL Assistant Office Secretary Biplob Barua told Bangla Tribune.
The previous deadline to submit the forms was at 6pm.
Over 4,000 nomination seekers have so far collected the forms to contest in the Dec 30 national election on AL ticket.
Party chief and Prime Minister Sheikh Hasina is set to interview the nomination seekers on Wednesday (Nov 14).
