Senior BNP leader Tariqul Islam has been kept in intensive care at a city hospital as fell sick seriously.
“My father [Tariqul] was admitted to Apollo Hospital on Saturday and kept in Intensive Care Unit (ICU) of the hospital,” his son Aninda Islam Amit told the media on Sunday.
On Oct 10, Tariqul was admitted to the city’s Asgar Ali Hospital following the sickness.
Tariqul, a member of BNP’s policymaking National Standing Committee has also served as a minister in the Khaleda Zia administration.
He has been suffering from heart, kidney diseases, diabetic and old-age complications for long.
BNP secretary general Mirza Fakhrul Islam Alamgir visited Tariqul on Saturday at the hospital.
