The BNP, AQM Badruddoza Chowdhury-led Jukto Front and Dr Kamal Hossain-led Jatiya Oikya Prokriya have somewhat prepared the draft of charter of demands and goals to form a larger coalition, says Nagorik Oikya Convener Mahmudur Rahman Manna.
The draft will be, however, be finalised at the next meeting on Oct 14 (Saturday), he said on Friday (Oct 12).
Manna was speaking to media after a meeting at the house of Jatiya Samajtantrik Dal (JSD) President ASM Abdur Rab in the city’s Uttara.
The coalitions will announce their ‘unified’ next course of action soon, according the Nagorik Oikya chief.
BNP Secretary General Mirza Fakhrul Islam Alamgir, its National Standing Committee members Mudud Ahmed and Khandakar Mossarrof Hossain, Nagorik Okya Convener Manna, JSD chief Rab, JSD General Secretary (GS) Abul Malek Ratan, Gano Forum Executive President Subrata Chowdhury, Gano Forum GS Mostafa Mohsin Montu, Bikapa Dhara Bangladesh Joint Secretary Mahi B Chowdhury, among others, attended the meeting.
The leaders sat to fix seven demands and 11 goals from the demands and goals earlier put forward by BNP, Jukta Front and Gano Forum.
Mirza Fakhrul, however, declined to disclose details. “We will speak finally tomorrow,” he said.
Bikalpa Dhara Bangladesh President AQM Badruddoza Chowdhury and Gano Forum President Dr Kamal Hossain skipped the Friday’s meeting.
They are excepted to attend the Saturday’s meeting to discuss the existing disagreements over the draft.
