The BNP is in a meeting with representatives of political parties in the 20-party Alliance it leads.
Secretary General Mirza Fakhrul Islam Alamgir and National Standing Committee member Nazrul Islam Khan, who serves as the coordinator for the coalition is attending the meeting at party chief Khaleda Zia’s offices in Gulshan.
Jamaat-e-Islami Executive Committee member Mawlana Abdul Halim, BJP President Andaleeve Rahman, Khelafat Majlish Secretary General Ahmad Abdul Kader, Bangladesh Kalyan Party chief Syed Md Ibrahim, LDP Secretary General Redwan Ahmed, Jatiya Ganatantrik Party’s (JaGPa) Tasmia Pradhan, Bangladesh NAP Secretary General Golam Mostafa Bhuiyan, leaders of Jamiat Ulema-e-Islam Bangladesh factions Mahiuddin Ikram and Nur Hossain Kashemi, Islam Oikya Jote faction chief Abdur Rakib attended the meeting among others.
The meeting will discuss the current political scenario as well as course of actions ahead of the general election, Bangladesh NAP Secretary General Golam Mostafa Bhuiyan told Bangla Tribune.
Representatives from all 20 parties in the coalition are taking part in Thursday’s meeting, Shairul Kabir Khan, a member of the BNP chief’s media wing, told Bangla Tribune.
