Jatiya Party chief HM Ershad has urged the government to release students detained during protests for safer roads.
In a statement on Tuesday, he said that Prime Minister Sheikh Hasina found the students demands logical and accepted those and the students as well left the streets.
The special envoy to the PM said that it untoward incidents may erupt during such a “large, successful and reasonable movement”.
The former military dictator, however, demanded those responsible for inciting violence by spreading rumours during the protests to be brought to justice.
