Govt updates dengue death toll to 121

Of the deaths, 264 cases were reported from hospitals to the Institute of Epidemiology, Disease Control and Research (IEDCR).
After reviewing the reports, the IERDCR confirmed 121 deaths occurred due to dengue, said the Health Emergency Operation Center and Control Room of the Directorate General of Health Services (DGHS) on Thursday (Nov 21).
The DGHS said that as many as 123 new dengue patients have been hospitalized across the country in the last 24 hours till 8am on Thursday.
Of them, 47 are receiving treatment at different hospital in Dhaka while another 66 are outside the capital.
As many as 565 dengue patients, currently, are undergoing treatment at different hospital across the country with 271 being treated at 41 government and private hospitals in Dhaka and another 526 outside the capital.
So far, in 2019, a total of 99,263 dengue patients reported to hospitals. Among them, 98,434 patients were released after treatment, according to DGHS.
