Information of huge assets of narcotics department official, AKM Kamrul Islam and his wife, Fatematuz Zohra has been unearthed by ACC though the couple submitted a wealth statement mentioned one flat, one microbus and four bighas of land.

The probe on the couple is being carried out by ACC deputy director, AKM Mahbubur Rahman.

Kamrul claims that he has been made a victim of a conspiracy by some of his colleagues. The ACC investigation found several properties of Kamrul under false names: A 2000 square feet flat in Chamelibagh with a market price of Tk 12 million, two flats in Malibagh worth Tk 20 million, diagnostic centre in Patuakhali, five-storied building in Patuakhali, 3 acre garden house in Patuakhali, 30 percent share in an electronics company and a 14 seat microbus.
