Charitable Trust: SC to hear Khaleda bail plea on Nov 25

On Sunday (Nov 17), Supreme Court's chamber judge Justice Md Nuruzzaman set the date after the former prime minister's counsels moved against a court order that scrapped bail.
Advocate Zainul Abedin represented Khaleda while Khurshid Alam argued for the Anti-Corruption Commission (ACC) and Attorney General Mahbubey Alam stood for the state.
Earlier, Khaleda has moved the Appellate Division challenging a High Court order that scrapped her bail plea in the Charitable Trust graft case.
Khaleda’s counsel Advocate Sagir Hossain filed the petition on Thursday (Nov 14).
On Jul 31, the High Court bench of Justice Obaidul Hassan and Justice SM Kuddus Zaman scrapped her petition.
On Oct 5, 2018, the Dhaka Special Judge Court-5 sentenced the three-time prime minister to seven years in prison.
