Over 160 hospitalised with dengue in 24hr

Till 8am on Wednesday (Nov 14), 59 new patients were admitted in Dhaka and 108 in districts outside Dhaka, said the Health Emergency Operation Centre and Control Room at the Directorate General of Health Services (DGHS) in a media release.
It said the number of patients currently undergoing treatment in government and private hospitals in the country was 680, including 296 in the capital.
Since January, 98,253 people were hospitalised with dengue. Of them, 97,322 were discharged from hospital after treatment, the statement added.
The Institute of Epidemiology, Disease Control and Research has received 251 reports of dengue-related deaths. It has reviewed 179 of them and confirmed 112 deaths, according to the statement.
