Awami League supporters poured out on the streets with processions in Dhaka on Friday and marched to the Suhrawardy Udyan for the reception to party chief and Prime Minister Sheikh Hasina.
Clad in colourful T-shirts and caps as well as decorative haircuts, supporters have also come in from outside Dhaka.
The party organised the reception to honour Hasina for her contributions in the government’s achievements, including the launch of Bangabandhu-1 satellite, Bangladesh’s graduation to a developing nation from a least developed one.
