The health department has updated its tally of the dengue fever-related deaths so far this year to 107.
Of the deaths, 171 cases were reported from hospitals to the Institute of Epidemiology, Disease Control and Research (IEDCR).
After reviewing the reports, the IERDCR confirmed 107 deaths occurred due to dengue, said the Health Emergency Operation Center and Control Room of the Directorate General of Health Services (DGHS) on Wednesday (Oct 23).
The DGHS said that as many as 236 new dengue patients have been hospitalized across the country in the last 24 hours till 8am on Wednesday.
Of them, 89 are receiving treatment at different hospital in Dhaka while another 147 are outside the capital.
As many as 930 dengue patients, currently, are undergoing treatment at different hospital across the country with 804 being treated at 41 government and private hospitals in Dhaka and another 526 outside the capital.
So far, in 2019, a total of 94,265 dengue patients reported to hospitals.Among them, 92,087 patients were released after treatment, recoveries according to DGHS.
