Two students land in jail for stabbing Jagannath University alumni

The police have arrested two students of Jagannath University for their alleged involvement in stabbing two former students with machetes.
Police detained Riad Ibne Sadaf and Sanbir Mahmud Faisal and produced them in court on Thursday (Oct 17) when the judge ordered them to be sent to jail, confirmed Sutrapur police OC Wazed Ali.
Sadaf is a finance department student of the 11th batch at Jagannath University and Faisal is a student of Kobi Nazrul College.
University proctor Mostafa Kamal said that the victims, Atiqul Islam Majumder and Bahauddin were immediately sent to the hospital.
“We raided TSC and recovered the machete used in the attack. The university has told the police to take highest measures against the perpertrators,” he said
Previously on Wednesday (Oct 18), former student Atiqul filed a case with Sutrapur police over the matter, accusing seven people.
The accused are Sadaf, social science student Sadiq Ridoy, management department’s Al Sadit Jion and Arafat Islam, marketing department’s Faisal and zoology student Abu Musa Rifat and Faisal.
According to the case documents, Sadaf and Faisal humiliated and tried to extort money from former students Atiqul, Jahangir Hossain and Bahauddin at the university’s TSC.
Later in the evening they Sadaf along with 15-20 other attacked Atiqul and Bahauddin.
