An anonymous letter on Thursday threatened Attorney General Mahbubey Alam with death.
His aide Kabir Ahmed has filed a complaint with Dhaka’s Shahbagh police station, said OC Abul Hasan.
“We have opened an investigation,” he said.
The letter reached to his offices in the evening, said Attorney General Alam.
“The letter reads, ‘The law will take its own course. But you are statements suggest that you have been bought by (Prime Minister) Sheikh Hasina. You will be not spared for plotting against Khaleda Zia. Your death is inevitable. Be careful’,” he told Bangla Tribune.
His personal aide Kabir Ahmed reported the incident to police, Alam added.
