Khaled Mahmud Bhuiyan, who was arrested on Wednesday (Sept 18) from his residence for running an illegal casino inside a sports club in Dhaka, has been now brought to the Gulshan police station.The Rapid Action Battalion (RAB) has brought charges under money laundering, narcotics and firearms acts against Juba League leader Khaled Mahmud Bhuiyan.
Khaled was arrested on Wednesday (Sept 18) from his residence for running an illegal casino inside a sports club in Dhaka.
On Thursday (Sept 19), the RAB handed him over to the Gulshan police, when three separate cases were started against the leader of the ruling Awami League’s youth front.
RAB-3 Warrant Officer Golam Mostofa of RAB-3 filed the cases under firearms, narcotics and money laundering acts, Deputy Commissioner Sudip Chakrabarty of the Dhaka metro police’s Gulshan Division told the media.
“Khaled has been sent to the court, where police will seek seven days in custody of him each in the firearms and narcotics case. The Criminal Investigation Department (CID) will investigate the money laundering charges. The case dockets will be forwarded to them,” he said.

Later in the evening, police have been given seven days to interrogate Khaled in two cases after he was the Dhaka Chief Metropolitan Magistrate Court.
After a quick hearing, Dhaka Metropolitan Magistrates Mahmuda Akter and Shahinur Rahman put Khaled in four days in remand in the arms case and three days in the narcotics case.

During the raid on Wednesday, RAB seized two pistols, one shotgun, and over 100 rounds of ammunition for the firearms, said the senior police officer before adding all three of them were in breach of licence conditions.

Nearly 600 Yaba tablets and Tk 1 million in cash as well foreign currencies worth over Tk 700,000 were found at Khaled’s residence, said Deputy Commissioner Chakrabarty.
The elite police unit apprehended Khaled at his residence in the capital's Gulshan on Wednesday evening said RAB's Media Wing Director Sarwar Bin Kashem.
RAB personnel carried out simultaneous raids on his home and Fakirerpool Youngmen's Club.
They also seized three firearms, including two for alleged breach of licence conditions, from the residence.

RAB also detained 142 people, including two women, from the club. Large quantities of alcohol, gambling equipment and Tk 2.4 million in cash were seized from the establishment.
