Young entrepreneurs platform ‘Nobochari’ starts journey

The Innovation, Creativity and Entrepreneurship (ICE) Centre of Dhaka University has launched a platform for young minds to become entrepreneurs with innovations.
The interdisciplinary student platform titled ‘Nobochari’ was launched by national professor Dr Anisuzzaman Wednesday when the centre celebrated its first anniversary at the Dhaka University.
“So far, over 550 students from different departments have shown interest to join the platform but we will select the right candidates by this month,” said the executive director of the centre Md Rashedur Rahman.
The center will work together with the government, industry, academia and development partners to bring changes in the society, he said.
Meanwhile, Dr Anisuzzaman in the programme also inaugurated the official website of ICE@DU.
He said the center has really shown its innovative thoughts and hoped that it will link the knowledge of the university with the rest of the country.
Vice-Chancellor of Dhaka University Dr Akhtaruzzaman emphasised on individual importance of innovation, creativity and entrepreneurship and importance of integrating these three together.
He hoped that this center will lead the youth in this integrated approach for the country to excel with the advancing era.
Former Bangladesh Bank Governor Atiur Rahman said that innovation is necessary for continued excellence in economy and welcomed the approach of the center.
Professor Muhammad Abdul Moyeen said that passion, clarity in purpose, hard work and patience are important for innovators and entrepreneurs.
