Detectives of Dhaka Metropolitan Police (DMP) have picked up the quota reform movement leader Suhel, DMP spokesperson Masudur Rahman confirms.
The DMP’s confirmation came nearly 14 hours after Suhel was picked up by some plainclothed men from the residence of Chhatra Union leader Lacky Akhter in the city’s Chamelibag area at 4:30am on Thursday.
Rahman, who is the deputy commissioner (media) of DMP, however, could not say whether Suhel was shown arrested in any cases.
Police is set to produce Suhel before the court on Friday (Jul 13), Rahman said.
Suhel, a third-year student of the English Department at Jagannath University was staying in Lucky Akhter’s home for security reason, according to the convener of the Bangladesh General Student Rights Preserving Council Hasan Al Mamun.
