Anti-Corruption Commission, ACC, has issued a letter asking for the wealth statements of DIG Mizanur Rahman and his wife, Sohelia Ratna, said ACC communication official, Pranab Kumar Banerjee.
Earlier, on Jul 9, ACC decided to call a wealth report of Mizan and his wife.
ACC sources say that primary investigation has revealed illegal wealth of around one core Taka in the names of the two.
However, Mizan told journalists on May 3 that he does not have any assets beyond what is stated in his tax file.
“ACC officials had prolonged discussion with me and I do not have anything outside what is noted in the files,” claimed the DIG, who is under probe.
