The Anti-Corruption Commission (ACC) has quizzed former prisons chief Syed Iftekhar Uddin on the graft allegations against Sylhet Deputy Inspector General (DIG) of Prisons Partha Gopal Banik.
He was questioned at the graft watchdog's Segunbagicha offices on Sunday (Aug 25) till 1.15pm by an ACC team led by its Director Mohammad Yousuf.
Sayed Iftekhar Uddin said that the irregularities and graft occurred during his term at Chattogram Jail and termed it his “administrative failure.”
On Jul 28, Partha Gopal Banik was arrested from his residence at Dhanmondi’s Bhuter Goli in Dhaka with Tk 8 million and the ACC opened a case against him the next day.
