Taslima Begum Renu, the 42-year-old mother of two from Mohakhali in the capital, was beaten to death by the mob on Saturday (Jul 20) at the premises of a school in Dhaka`s Badda.Dhaka metro police have arrested the key suspect in the lynching of a woman in Dhaka’s Badda.
The Detective Branch said Hridoy was arrested around 8.30pm on Tuesday (Jul 23) from Narayanganj.
“Acting on a tip-off, one of our teams conducted a raid at Bhulta in Narayanganj’s Rupganj Upazila,” said Mahbub Alam, the Detective Branch joint commissioner.
The suspect admitted to his involvement, he said before adding: “Hridoy gave us some information, which we are being verified now.”

Guardians took her to the headmaster’s room for questioning on suspicion that she was a kidnapper when she had gone to the school at North Badda.
Angry locals, who gathered outside on hearing that “a child abductor has been caught”, later snatched her away and lynched her, according to law enforcers.
Police said they responded immediately but the woman died before they arrived.
The victim’s family started a case over the death accusing 400 to 500 unidentified people.
