‘DSCC will make house calls to destroy Aedes mosquito’

Dhaka South City Corporation Mayor Syed KhokonDhaka South City Corporation (DSCC) will now be going from house to house in a drive to destroy Aedes mosquito, said Mayor Sayeed Khokon.
“A special 15-day programme has been launched from today,” he said on Sunday (Jul 21) while inaugurating the programme to build a dengue-free city.
He added that representatives of the 57 Dhaka South wards will go from house to house and destroy mosquito larvae.
“They will also train the citizens on how to stamp out the mosquito,” he said.
The mayor said that they will lead drives in at least 30 houses everyday destroying nearly 25,000 Aedes mosquitoes in 15 days.
Saying that Aedes mosquitoes usually breed in the dirty waters on the streets, ditches or houses, Khokon called on everyone to be aware.
