Two applications to lodge sedition cases against Priya Saha

Barrister Syedul Haque Suman filed one sedition case with a Dhaka court on Sunday (Jul 21).

Metropolitan Magistrate Md Ziaur Rahman recorded the statement of Suman and said he will pass an order on the issue later in the day.

Another case was filed by Advocate Md Ibrahim Khalil, executive committee member of Dhaka Bar Association, who filed a complainant suit with Dhaka Metropolitan Magistrate Abu Sufiyan Md Noman on Sunday morning.
On Jul 16, Priya Saha went to the White House, and complained to the president of the USA saying: “I am from Bangladesh where minorities are facing repression and are unable to stay in the country.”

She also alleged that her home was burnt, land confiscated and she did not get any help from the law. To get relief from persecution, she sought the help from US president Trump.
