Rescuers have recovered one body from the debris of the collapsed three-storied building in Dhaka’s Sadarghat.
Fire Service and Civil Defence employees pulled out the body on Wednesday (Jul 17) evening, confirmed fire service Deputy Director Debashish Bardhan.
The victim has been identified as 60-year-old Jahidul Bepari. His son, 18-year-old Shafiqul Bepari is still missing.
The really old building collapsed in a heap at 1:30 pm on Wednesday and two people were feared missing.
According to fire service, the roof of one of the rooms collapsed before and another wall collapsed during the rescue.
Besides, the entrance to the building is quite narrow which has significantly slowed down the rescue process.
