The man handed over to police for raping a sixth-grader in a train in Kamalapur has confessed in front of a court.
Samrat was sent to jail after confessing in front of Dhaka Judicial Magistrate Rajib Hasan on Thursday (Jul 11).
Meanwhile, the victim was taken to Dhaka Medical College Hospital at 1pm, after being kept waiting at the police station for 12 hours.
Passengers rescued the sixth-grader from a Jamuna Express train on Wednesday (Jul 10) when they saw something off about her.
Samrat, who was there on the train was caught and handed over to the police.
The girl’s mother filed a case under the Women and Children Repression Prevention Act on Thursday after which Samrat was sent to court.
