Chamber judge freezes bail for ex-MP Rana

On Thursday (Jun 20), the Appellate Division chamber judge froze the order after the State moved against it.
The matter was forwarded to the full appeals bench and the hearing has been scheduled for Jul 1.
The judge sent the petition to a full court bench of Appellate Division of the Supreme Court and fixed July 1 for the next hearing.
The High Court, on Wednesday, granted Rana permanent bail in a case filed over the killing of two Juba League activists in 2012, paving the way for his release from jail.
Rana has been linked to the murders of two local Juba League leaders in Tangail—Mohammad Shamim and Mohammad Mamun—who went missing on Jul 16, 2012.
