The blaze at a petrol pump in capital Dhaka has been put out.
The fire erupted at the petrol pump beside the Ramchandrapur canal in the city’s Kalyanpur around 5.30pm on Tuesday (Jun 18), said the Fire Service Control Room.
It took 10 fire-fighting units nearly 40 minutes to douse the flames.
Local Adabar police chief SM Kawser Ahmed told the media that the fire broke out from a tanker lorry at the premises of the filling station.
No casualties were reported as people inside the pump managed to evacuate before fire went deadly, he added.
The cause of fire is yet to be determined.
Meanwhile, the blaze left local in panic and caused traffic congestion on the adjacent Mirpur Road. Additional police forces have been deployed to control the situation.
