Dhaka Metropolitan Police (DMP) Commissioner Asaduzzaman Mia on Monday (May 27) said the explosive, which blasted at capital’s Malibagh intersection on May 26 was more powerful than a usual cocktail.

Dhaka Metropolitan Police Commissioner Asaduzzaman Mia said that the explosive, placed in the car before, was an improvised cocktail and very powerful.
“A vested quarter is carrying out malicious activities to create fear among the masses,” said the commissioner on Monday (May 27).
He also said that after inspecting the site of the explosion, the bomb disposal team has found the improvised explosive device to be more potent than normal cocktail bombs.
The medical treatment of the wounded will be borne by the state, the police commissioner assured and added, “if their family faces any crisis then the government will provide financial assistance too.”
