Maritime ports asked to lower signal

Squally weather is likely to affect the maritime ports, North Bay and adjoining coastal area of Bangladesh, met office says.The Met office has asked the maritime ports of Chattogram, Cox’s Bazar, Mongla and Payra to oower the cautionary signal as squally weather is unlikely to persist over the North Bay and adjoining coastal areas of the country.
It, however, advised all fishing boats and trawlers over North Bay to proceed with caution until Sunday evening.
On Saturday, the ports were advised to hoist signal number three.
In its weather bulletin on Sunday, the Met office said that rain or thundershowers accompanied by temporary gusty/squally wind is likely to occur at a few places over Mymensingh, Sylhet and Chattogram divisions and at one or two places over Rangpur, Rajshahi, Dhaka, Khulna and Barishal divisions.
The day temperature may rise by 2-3 degrees Celsius and night temperature may rise by 1-2 degrees Celsius over the country, it added.
The highest temperature on Saturday was recorded 32.0 degrees Celsius at Jashore in Khulna and today’s minimum temperature 22.5 degrees Celsius at Khepupara in Barishal.
