FR Tower fire: Inquiry bodies find RAJUK irregularities

Ministry of Housing and Public Works Minister SM Rezaul Karim informed the media regarding the findings of the probe reports submitted by RAJUK and the ministry-led inquiry at the Secretariat on Wednesday (May 22).
These 40 RAJUK officials, including the then-chairman, were involved in several instances of fraudulent and irregular activities regarding granting permission for, and monitoring, the FR Tower building.
The minister said: “No-one is above the law. All those who are responsible for this incident will surely be brought under the law.
“The probe teams have identified the individuals in two separate steps involved in various instances of fraudulent and irregular activities.”
On Mar 28, the deadly FR Tower fire claimed the lives of 26 people and injured more than 70.
Multiple probe committees were formed to investigate the incident and determine the ones responsible.
