Zarin Dia posted a Facebook message expressing her grievance and then tried to commit suicide by taking sleeping pills. After being expelled from Bangladesh Chhatra League (BCL), former member of the central committee, Zarin Dia, posted a Facebook message expressing her grievance and then tried to commit suicide by taking sleeping pills.
The incident took place late on Monday (May 20), and later, Dia was admitted to the Dhaka Medical College Hospital (DMCH). Former social welfare secretary of Chhatra League’s previous committee, Rana Hamid conformed the matter, saying, “Dia underwent a wash at the hospital and is now in a better situation.”
It’s found that Zarin Dia was temporarily expelled for breach of discipline after which she posted some comments and questions on Facebook targeting Chhatra League president Rezwanul Huq Shovon and general secretary Golam Rabbani.
In profound anguish, she wrote: “I am crestfallen and don’t know what to do; if I die then please try to absolve me of the accusations.”
She also added: “The leaders did not value our work; when we were wounded in a scuffle, top leaders did not come to inquire about us; I never imagined of facing such indignity and injustice.”
