The Anti-Corruption Commission (ACC) will interrogate FR Tower owner, SMHI Faruque who is currently in prison on accusations of constructing the buildings beyond law and acquiring illegal assets.
Faruque will be interrogated at the jail gate on Sunday (Apr 28), said ACC Deputy Director Pranab Kumar Bhattacharya on Thursday (Apr 25).
According to ACC sources, the court granted them permission to grill Faruque ACC Deputy Director Abu Bakar will be conducting the interrogation.
On Thursday (Apr 25), the graft watchdog summoned RAJUK Assistant Director Nasir Uddin Sharif on allegation of irregularities in the construction of FR Tower and ordered him to be present on May 2.
The deadly fire at the 23-storied FR Tower at Banani killed 27 people and injured about 50 on Mar 28.
The building, which didn’t have any proper fire exits had permission for 18 floors but the developers in violation of the building law added five more floors.
