They blocked the Nilkhet intersection on Wednesday (Apr 24) from 10 am to 2:30 pm and halted their protest saying that they will meet with the DU administration and announce further decisions on Thursday (Apr 25).

Meanwhile, DU Proctor Golam Rabbani had gone to speak to the protesters in the afternoon.

“The university administration has taken some decisions,” he said and added that if these are implemented the problems will be resolved.

The students said that after announcing the 10 decisions on behalf of the DU authorities, the proctor called on them to resolve the issue after speaking to the teachers.

“We will provide the teachers with a written account of the problems that each session faces,” said Dhaka College student Abu Bakr.

“We’ll announce further decision tomorrow [Thursday] at the Dhaka College canteen after meeting with the teachers,” he added.

1. Grades will be published within 90 working days of the examination.

2. The scripts of subjects where majority of the students have been failed will be re-evaluated based on applications

3. An independent cell at the administrative building has been formed to oversee the operations of the seven colleges. In addition to that a separate administrative is also in the cards in the near future.

4. Steps will be taken to arrange for ‘crash programs’ to end the session backlogs after due consultation with the teachers

5. The academic calendar is being prepared

6. The 2016 fourth year honors examination result has already been published

7. The 2017 degree first year routine has already been published

8. Masters 2016 online form will be available from Apr 28 and the exams will start on Jun 17

9. Honors second year-2018 examination will start on May 19

10. A meeting with the faculties of the colleges, presided over by the vice chancellor will be held on Apr 28.

The students of Dhaka College, Eden Mohila College, Begum Badrunnesa Government Women’s College, Government Titumir College, Kabi Nazrul Islam College, Government Shaheed Suhrawardy College, Government Bangla College that were made DU affiliates in 2017 blocked the streets on Tuesday (Apr 23).

1. Publish results of all the departments at the same time within 90 days of the examination.
2. Reasons for the mass fail must be released and all the exam papers must be reevaluated for   the Degree, Honours and Masters exams of all years
3. An independent administrative building to operate all the seven colleges
4. DU teachers have to take classes in all the departments of the colleges at least twice a week.

5. Start crash programs and publish academic calendars in order to end session backlogs.
