ACC finds 22 areas of corruption in Titas

Titas Gas building at Karwan Bazar area of Dhaka. COURTESYThe Anti-Corruption Commission (ACC) has identified as many as 22 sources of corruption at state-owned Titas Gas Transmission and Distribution Company Limited.
The graft watchdog revealed the corruption in an investigative and observational report, which it submitted to the State Minister for Power, Energy Nasrul Hamid on Wednesday (Apr 17).
ACC Commissioner Mohammad Mozammel Haque Khan submitted the report.
The report says illegal connection, illegal link renegotiation, meter tampering, excessive gas connection to boiler and generator, system loss, negligence to install EVC (Electronic Volume Corrector) are among the sources of corruption.
Receiving the report, the minister reiterated government’s tough stance against corruption.
“No one who is involved in corruption will be spared,” he said.
The ACC report also put forward a set of 12 recommendations to curb of corruption in the state-owned company.
