A court in Dhaka has set Jun 12 for Indictment hearing in 11 cases lodged against the incarnated BNP chief Khaleda Zia.
Judge Imrul Qayes of Dhaka Metropolitan Sessions, which was set at the city’s Bakshi Bazar Alia Madrasa ground, fixed the date on Tuesday (Apr 16) after the defence moved a time plea.
Of the cases, eight were filed with the city’s Darus Salam police for carrying out subversive activities, one for sedition and two other were filed with Jatrabari police.
Tuesday was fixed for holding hearing on charge framing in 10 of those cases and the court was scheduled to accept charge sheet in another case.
But the defence pleaded for time, saying proceedings of most of these cases have been stayed by the High Court. The court after that deferred the hearing.
