Authorities at the Dhaka airport have detained a man for entering with an undeclared firearm.
On Friday (Mar 22), security personnel detained one Mujibur Rahman after he entered the airport’s domestic terminal with a pistol and 32 rounds of ammunition, said Nur Siddiqui, a director of Aviation Security at the Shahjalal International Airport.
Rahman, who claimed to be a retired army sergeant, is the agriculture affairs secretary of ruling Awami League’s Sathira district unit.
“The man has been detained as he entered the airport without declaring that he was carrying a firearm,” Siddiqui said adding he well be handed over to the Airport police.
