Former adviser to caretaker government and inspector general of police (IGP) ASM Shahjahan has passed away.
Shahjahan breathed his last at Dhaka’s Apollo Hospital at around 1am on Wednesday (Feb 6).
The former police chief had undergone treatment under the supervision of Apollo’s Dr Chandra Prakash Dokwal for quite some time, sources at the hospital told Bangla Tribune.
Born in Noakhali, Shahjahan served as the IGP from 1992 to 1996 before becoming an advisor for education, science and information technology affairs to the 2001 caretaker government.
