Two children have died in a fire that erupted at a house at Matual Uttarpara in the capital’s Jatrabari.
The fire broke out on Saturday morning (Dec 29), said police.
The deceased are identified as 7-year-old Tushar and 12-year-old Polash.
Their father, 55-year-old Iqbal, has been admitted to Dhaka Medical College Hospital (DMCH).
“Two children died in a fire and their father was admitted to the hospital,” said DMCH police camp Inspector Md Baccu Mia.
A mosquito coil may have been responsible for starting the fire, fire service sources said.
