The High Court has fixed Tuesday (Dec 11) to announce its decision on BNP Chief Khaleda Zia's petition seeking to get her nominations reinstated.
The HC bench of Justice Syed Refaat Ahmed and Justice Md Iqbal Kabir gave the orders after hearing a petition challenging the EC’s decision of rejecting her nominations.
On Dec 8, the EC upheld the returning officers’ decision to scrap all three nominations of the former premier for Feni-1, Bogura-6 and Bogura-7 constituencies.
BNP the following day filed three petitions with the HC challenging the EC's decision.
Khaleda's nomination was cancelled on Dec 2 as she has been sentenced to over two years jail-term which renders an aspirant ineligible to contest polls.
