Golam Hossain Liton, 40, started work as a 12 year old in a shop selling motor parts but soon joined an old Dhaka terror group, becoming an expert bomb maker.

Over time, he came to be known as Boma Liton. However, on Nov 6 last he was arrested by DMP’s Pallabi zonal team. He has been put on seven days remand.

Pallabi senior assistant commissioner, Shahadat Hossain, told Bangla Tribune, “We had been searching for Liton for a long time since he was actively involved in bomb making.”

Police informed that Liton became an accomplice of a terror in Old Dhaka called Shahid. If anyone refused to pay extortion money then Liton exploded bombs in front of homes and shops to intimidate.

Shahid was later killed in a shoot-out with RAB in Old Dhaka in 2012 after which Liton went into hiding for some time. He emerged when the situation was favourable.

Reportedly a BNP supporter, Liton, earned huge amount of money making bombs.

DB sources say, there are countless cases against Liton with 11 in Wari thana alone.

Shahadat Hossain further adds that with information gleaned from Liton, people who supplied him with bomb making materials will be identified and arrested.
