Following the clash at Tongi, the internal feud of Tabliq Jamaat has spread across the country with the common accusation that the discord is being fanned by Hefazat Islam. Government has ordered the stoppage of activities on both sides. It’s believed that Hefazat is supporting the anti Saad faction and there have been reports of attacks and assault on pro Saad people.
It’s found that over the clashes in Tongi, an organisation called ‘Towhidi Janata’ declared a nationwide protest rally on 7 December, Friday. While declaring the programme, they called for pro Saad members to be declared persona non grata.
Hefazat took an anti Saad stance last year, as a result of which, moulana Saad could not join the Iztema.
A Saad follower told Bangla Tribune: “though the government is trying to settle the rift, some parties are conspiring to aggravate the division.”
Saying that Hefazat was provoking the volatile situation, he added: they are not adhering to the government order to suspend all activities.”
