Eight ‘Neo-JMB terrorists’ held in Dhaka

Representational ImagePolice have arrested eight suspected militants in Dhaka who they claim belong to militant outfit Neo-JMB.
Counter Terrorism and Transnational Crime (CTTC) unit of Dhaka Metropolitan Police (DMP) made the arrest on Monday (Nov 11) from the capital’s Jatrabari, confirmed DMP Deputy Commissioner Obaidur Rahman.
The Neo-JMB is a revived faction of Jamaat-ul-Mujahideen Bangladesh.
The suspects include one Rakibul Hassan alias Artugal who the police said is the husband of arrested terror suspect Khadia Akhter who surrendered during a terror raid in Narshingdi on Oct 16.
The seven others have been identified as Alamin, Hafiz Bhuiyan, Syed Zakaria, Jasim Uddin, Mizanur Rahman alias Shumon, Shah Alam alias Saifullah and Milon Hossain alias Topon have been arrested from Jatrabari’s Kazla area.
Police said that they have seized a firearm and ammunition during the arrest.
CTTC sources claim that the suspects gathered together in order to plan a terror attack. A case has been filed against them with Jatrabari police.
