Five Titas officials suspended

Five officials of the Titas Gas Transmission & Distribution Company Limited have been suspended on allegations of corruption.

A DGM, a manager and a deputy manager of the Accounts department were suspended because of mismatch in calculations while two managers were suspended on allegations of misappropriating gas from a CNG station, a Titas official, on Wednesday told Bangla Tribune requesting anonymity.

The accused are— Manager (Accounts) Mdc Humayun Kabir Khan, Deputy Manager (Salaries and Fund) Nazmul Haque, Deputy General Manager (Accounts) Md Abdur Rashid, Manager (Metering and vigilance team) Md Mohidur Rahman and Manager (Pipeline construction) Md Golam Mostofa Khan.

According to sources, Petrobangla formed two probe committees to investigate corruption at Titas.

Suspension of the five officials came following investigation reports from the committees, added the source.
