Supreme Court lawyer SM Zulfikar Ali sent the notices by mail on Tuesday to Information Minister Hasanul Haq Inu, Law Minister Anisul Huq and secretaries to the cabinet division, and ministries of information and law.

The notice seeks amendments to Sections 8, 21, 25, 28, 31, 32, 43 and 53 of the new law within 30 days otherwise, a petition will be filed with the High Court

The Digital Security Bill 2018 was passed in parliament on Sept 19 and President Abdul Hamid signed it into a law on Oct 8 despite protests and concerns from the media.

The information minister and law minister, however, still maintain that the door for discussion is still open.
